BoardCraft is a web app that runs in your browser on desktop and laptop computers. There is no dedicated mobile app at this time. The editor is designed for mouse and keyboard use and works best on a desktop or laptop screen.

From the Boards page, select 'Create a Board', then choose a preset size or enter custom dimensions. BoardCraft opens the new board in the editor, where you can add text, images, clipart, shapes, letters, banners, borders, and other design elements. To start from someone else's shared template instead, open their template link and select 'Make a Copy'.

Yes. BoardCraft lets you add and arrange text, uploaded images, clipart, borders, banners, letter sets, name tags, shapes, and other classroom design elements.

Open the Letters tab in the editor panel, browse or search for a letter set, then click it to open the Word Builder. Type your word or sentence, choose a size and spacing, preview how it will look, then click Add to Board.

Available characters can vary by letter set. Open a set's character preview before using it to confirm that it contains the letters, numbers, punctuation, or symbols you need. Lowercase letters can use the matching uppercase character when one is available. If the set does not contain a character you type, BoardCraft skips that character and places the supported ones.

For a decorative repeating border, place one or more eligible images, clipart items, shapes, or groups on the board, select them, then choose 'Create Border' from the selection toolbar. BoardCraft repeats the selected design around the canvas edges. You can then choose which sides appear and adjust tile width, distance from the edge, spacing, and shift in Properties. For a simple solid outline instead, use Board > Board Border Color & Width.

Yes. Select any image or shape on the board, open the Name Tag editor using Create Name Tag from the toolbar, then switch to Batch mode in the modal that opens. Paste or type your full class list, one name per line, and BoardCraft generates a personalized name tag for every student at once, arranged automatically in a grid on the board.

Yes. When creating a board, choose a preset or enter a custom width and height in inches. Each side can be from 1 to 100 inches, subject to BoardCraft's maximum total canvas area. You can also resize an existing board from Settings; BoardCraft scales the existing design with the new dimensions.

Yes. BoardCraft supports full undo and redo in the editor. Press Ctrl+Z, or Cmd+Z on Mac, to undo your last action and Ctrl+Y, or Cmd+Shift+Z, to redo. BoardCraft keeps up to 50 steps of history during your editing session.

Yes. BoardCraft supports board organization with folders so you can keep your classroom projects, seasonal boards, and resource designs easier to manage.

When Auto save is enabled in Settings, BoardCraft attempts to save unsaved changes every 60 seconds. Auto save pauses if BoardCraft detects conflicting changes from another tab or editing session until you choose which version to keep. You can also use Save at any time, and you should confirm the saved status before closing the editor.

Yes. Open a BoardCraft template link shared by its creator, preview the design, and select 'Make a Copy'. You may be asked to sign in first, and the copy counts toward your plan's board limit. Your copied board is independent, so editing it does not change the creator's original. The standard Create a Board flow starts from a size rather than a built-in template gallery.

Cloneable template sharing is included with the Seller plan. It lets other users open a shared template and make their own copy without changing your original board.

Yes. When you share a template, users with your shared template link can copy the template into their own account, subject to their plan limits. This is a great way for sellers to share with their customers.

Yes. You can upload your own images and use them in your boards. Upload storage and file-size limits depend on your plan.

BoardCraft supports common classroom image uploads such as PNG, JPG, and JPEG files. Uploaded images must meet your plan's file-size limits to be added to your upload library and used on boards.

Upload storage and file-size limits depend on your plan. Free includes 50 MB of upload storage and a 5 MB file-size limit, Teacher includes 500 MB and a 10 MB file-size limit, and Seller includes 2 GB and a 20 MB file-size limit.

BoardCraft checks where an upload is used before deleting it. If it is used by a shared template or cloned board, it is removed from your upload library but retained for those existing designs and may continue counting toward your storage while it is in use. If it is used only by one of your private boards, deleting it may affect that board. If it is unused, it is deleted permanently.

Yes. BoardCraft offers four export options: Save as Image (PNG) for one high-resolution board image, Save as Document (PDF) for a print-ready document when the board size allows, Export for Printing (also called a Print Pack) for printable board pieces, and the Seller-only Export Asset Bundle for separate high-quality assets in a ZIP file. Free-plan export limits still apply.

Export for Printing creates a Print Pack that places board elements on printable pages instead of exporting the whole board as one image. Text can be split into individual characters, clipart is packed or tiled across pages when needed, and banners and decorative borders are repeated efficiently. This makes the pieces easier to print, cut out, and assemble by hand.

For Export for Printing, you can choose US Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) or A4. BoardCraft keeps each item's physical size and rotates and packs pieces to use the sheets efficiently. Full-board PNG and PDF exports use the board's dimensions rather than this Print Pack paper-size setting.

Yes. Export your design as a supported print-ready file, then print it from your browser, PDF viewer, school printer settings, or a print shop.

Free users can export up to 3 times per day and 30 times per month. Teacher and Seller plans remove the free-plan export caps for regular classroom and seller workflows.

Large boards, high-resolution images, many design elements, or print-ready files can take longer to process. Keep the tab open while BoardCraft finishes the export.

Export Asset Bundle, previously described as Individual Elements ZIP, is a Seller feature that packages separate high-quality design assets as PNG files in a downloadable ZIP. Curved text may also include layout metadata so its pieces can be reconstructed. This export is intended for teacher-sellers building customizable digital resources or product asset packs.

The Seller plan includes commercial use rights for designs you create using BoardCraft assets. If you are creating resources to sell on TPT or another marketplace, choose the Seller plan. The Free and Teacher plans are for personal classroom use only.

Most classroom teachers should choose Teacher if they want to create often, use premium assets, upload their own images, and avoid free-plan export caps.

Choose Seller if you create resources for a store or marketplace and need commercial-use workflows such as cloneable templates and individual elements export. If you only create for your own classroom, Teacher is the best value.

Yes. You can manage billing from your account or subscription area. If something looks wrong, contact support and include the email on your BoardCraft account.

Some exports, premium assets, uploads, and seller tools are tied to plan limits. Locked states usually mean the feature is part of Teacher or Seller.

You may have reached your plan's board limit. Free users can create up to 3 boards, while Teacher and Seller include unlimited boards.

Try refreshing the page first. If the image still does not load, check your connection, confirm the file is still in your uploads, and contact support with the board ID if it continues.

Try exporting again after a short wait. If the board is very large, remove unused elements or reduce oversized images. If the issue continues, contact support with the board ID and export type.

Template cloning may fail if the template is unavailable, your account is not signed in, or your plan has reached its board limit. Try signing in and checking your available board space.

Use the contact page and include your account email, what you were trying to make, and any error message you saw. That helps support understand the issue faster.
