Refund Policy
Refunds and cancellations for paid BoardCraft plans.
This policy explains how subscription cancellations, first-purchase refund requests, renewal charges, billing disputes, and technical issue reviews work for BoardCraft paid plans.
Refund and cancellation policy details
Effective date: June 20, 2026
Last updated: June 20, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to subscriptions and other paid services purchased directly through BoardCraft or our authorized billing provider. BoardCraft paid plans provide access to design tools, exports, storage, templates, assets, Seller features, and other features based on your selected plan.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and applicable pricing or checkout information.
Because BoardCraft is a digital service that may be available immediately after purchase, refunds are handled under this policy and any mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply to you. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
2. Free Plans
BoardCraft may offer a free plan with limited boards, exports, storage, assets, or feature access. Because free plans do not require payment, they are not eligible for refunds.
3. Cancelling a Subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time through:
- Your BoardCraft account or subscription settings.
- The customer billing portal provided by our billing provider, currently Freemius.
- BoardCraft support, if you cannot access the account or billing portal.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law:
- Cancellation stops future renewal charges.
- Your paid access continues until the end of your current paid billing period.
- Cancellation does not automatically generate a refund.
- You may keep using paid features until your current paid period ends, unless your account is suspended or terminated under our Terms of Service.
- You are responsible for cancelling before your next renewal date if you do not want to be charged for the next billing period.
If the app shows your subscription status as cancelled, that generally means renewal has been stopped. You may still have paid access through the listed access-through or current-period-end date.
4. 14-Day First-Purchase Refund Guarantee
BoardCraft offers a voluntary 14-day refund guarantee for an eligible first paid subscription purchase. You may request a refund within 14 calendar days of your first paid BoardCraft subscription purchase, whether you selected a monthly or annual plan.
To qualify:
- The request must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the original first paid purchase date.
- The purchase must have been made directly through BoardCraft or our authorized billing provider.
- The account must not have violated our Terms of Service.
- The request must not involve fraud, payment abuse, chargeback misuse, unauthorized account use, or attempts to circumvent plan restrictions.
You do not need to provide a reason to request a refund under this voluntary guarantee, although feedback may help us improve BoardCraft. If approved, the refund applies to the initial subscription payment only.
5. Charges Generally Not Refundable
Except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by BoardCraft, the following are generally non-refundable:
- Subscription renewal charges.
- Monthly subscription payments after the 14-day first-purchase period.
- Annual subscription renewals after the 14-day first-purchase period.
- Plan upgrades, downgrades, prorated charges, credits, or partial billing-period adjustments.
- Charges for subscription periods that have already ended.
- Taxes, currency-conversion fees, bank fees, card-network fees, or payment-provider fees that cannot be recovered by BoardCraft.
- Purchases made through third-party platforms or resellers that control their own refund process.
- Charges connected to accounts suspended or terminated because of fraud, abuse, copyright infringement, prohibited use, or violation of our Terms of Service.
We may make exceptions in limited circumstances at our discretion, including duplicate charges, billing errors, prolonged service outages, or verified technical issues that materially prevented use of the Service.
6. Statutory Consumer Rights
Some countries and regions provide consumers with legal rights to cancel certain online purchases, withdraw from certain digital content contracts, receive repairs or replacements, or obtain refunds within a specified period.
If you are entitled to a statutory withdrawal, cancellation, refund, repair, replacement, or other consumer right, that right remains available regardless of this policy.
Where permitted by law, when you purchase immediate access to BoardCraft digital services, we may ask you to expressly consent to immediate performance before the end of any statutory withdrawal period and acknowledge that beginning access may affect or end your statutory right of withdrawal. Any such consent or acknowledgment will be requested clearly during checkout where required.
7. Technical Problems and Service Issues
If a technical issue prevents you from meaningfully using BoardCraft, contact us before requesting a chargeback or payment dispute. Please include:
- The email address associated with your BoardCraft account.
- Your subscription, invoice, order, or billing reference, if available.
- A description of the issue.
- Screenshots, error messages, browser details, or other information that may help us investigate.
We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve verified technical issues. Depending on the circumstances, we may provide troubleshooting, restore access, extend your subscription, issue account credit, or provide a refund where appropriate.
BoardCraft is not responsible for issues caused solely by unsupported browsers, device limitations, internet connectivity, third-party printer settings, local software, third-party marketplaces, or third-party services outside our reasonable control.
8. Effect of an Approved Refund
If we approve a refund:
- Your paid subscription access may end immediately or on the date the refund is processed.
- Your account may revert to the Free plan, if available.
- Paid-only features, export modes, storage allowances, Seller features, commercial-use permissions, or template-publishing rights may no longer be available.
- You remain responsible for downloading or preserving any User Content you wish to retain before paid access ends.
- Existing boards and content may remain subject to Free plan limits and availability.
- Content that you already exported, downloaded, shared, sold, or distributed may remain on your own devices or with recipients who previously received it.
A refund does not automatically delete your BoardCraft account or User Content. Account deletion requests are handled separately under our Privacy Policy and account-management procedures.
9. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email refund@boardcraft.app with the subject line "Refund Request."
Please include:
- The email address associated with your BoardCraft account.
- Your order number, invoice number, subscription ID, or billing reference, if available.
- The date of purchase.
- A short description of your request.
We may ask for additional information to verify your identity, purchase, or payment method. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method whenever possible. Processing times may vary depending on Freemius, the payment processor, card issuer, bank, or payment method.
10. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us first so we can review the issue. Submitting a chargeback or payment dispute does not automatically cancel your subscription. You should separately cancel your subscription if you do not want it to renew.
While a chargeback or payment dispute is pending, we may suspend paid features or restrict account activity until the matter is resolved. We reserve the right to contest fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized chargebacks and to recover reasonable costs where permitted by law.
11. Promotional Offers and Special Terms
Promotional offers, free trials, discounts, coupons, lifetime deals, bundles, beta programs, early-access offers, or limited-time offers may have separate terms. Where special offer terms conflict with this policy, the special offer terms apply to that offer, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our products, billing practices, legal requirements, or customer-support processes. Any updated version will be posted on BoardCraft with a revised "Last updated" date.
Changes generally apply to future purchases and renewals. They will not retroactively reduce rights that applied to a purchase already completed, unless required by law.
