Terms of service details
Effective date: June 20, 2026
Last updated: June 20, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service apply to BoardCraft, the online classroom bulletin board, printable decor, and teacher-seller design service available at boardcraft.app. In these Terms, "BoardCraft," "we," "us," and "our" refer to BoardCraft as the operator of the Service.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use BoardCraft. These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, pricing pages, checkout disclosures, and any feature-specific terms we present to you.
2. Who May Use BoardCraft
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create a BoardCraft account.
If you use BoardCraft on behalf of a school, district, business, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on that entity's behalf. In that case, "you" includes both you and that entity.
BoardCraft is intended for adult teachers, homeschool educators, educational resource creators, teacher-sellers, schools, and similar users. It is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and current account information.
- Keeping your password, sign-in method, and account credentials confidential.
- Maintaining control over devices used to access your account.
- Promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
- Ensuring that your use of BoardCraft complies with applicable laws and these Terms.
We may require email verification before allowing access to certain features. You may not create an account using false information, impersonate another person, share account access in a way that bypasses plan limits, or use another user's account without permission.
4. The BoardCraft Service
BoardCraft provides tools that allow users to create, save, organize, edit, export, share, and, where available, publish classroom bulletin boards, printable classroom decor, templates, and related educational design materials.
Features, export options, storage limits, template-sharing rights, asset access, upload limits, commercial-use permissions, and other functionality may vary by plan. We may modify, improve, suspend, remove, or discontinue features at any time. Where a change materially affects a paid subscription, we will provide notice where required by law.
5. Free, Teacher, and Seller Plans
BoardCraft may offer free and paid plans, including Teacher and Seller plans. Current plan availability, pricing, feature limits, export allowances, storage limits, asset access, template functionality, and commercial-use permissions are described on the applicable pricing, upgrade, subscription, or checkout page.
You are responsible for selecting a plan appropriate for your intended use. We may enforce plan restrictions through technical controls, including limits on boards, exports, uploads, storage, template publishing, asset access, or Seller-only features.
You may not bypass, disable, interfere with, or attempt to circumvent any plan restriction, export counter, paywall, security measure, content-protection system, or access-control mechanism.
6. Payments, Renewals, Cancellations, and Refunds
Paid subscriptions are processed through our third-party billing provider, currently Freemius. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the billing provider to charge the payment method you provide for applicable fees, taxes, and renewal charges.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout:
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle.
- You may cancel renewal through your BoardCraft account, billing portal, or the method provided by the billing provider.
- Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
- You retain access to paid features until the end of the paid period unless your account is suspended or terminated under these Terms.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in our Refund Policy.
Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy. To request a refund, email refund@boardcraft.app with the email address on your account and any purchase details that can help us find the charge.
Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable consumer right you may have under applicable law. Where applicable law requires express consent before immediate access to digital services begins, we may request that consent during checkout.
7. Your Content
"User Content" means any content you create, upload, save, publish, share, submit, export, or otherwise make available through BoardCraft, including:
- Boards and board designs.
- Text, names, classroom content, and project metadata.
- Uploaded images, graphics, files, and media.
- Templates, thumbnails, exports, and template-share content.
- Comments, feedback, support messages, and other communications.
You retain ownership of the User Content you create or upload, subject to the rights you grant in these Terms.
You grant BoardCraft a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, modify solely as technically necessary, display, transmit, create backups of, and otherwise use your User Content solely to operate, secure, maintain, improve, and provide the Service.
This license ends when your User Content is deleted from the Service, except to the extent it remains in an active shared template, copied board, export, backup, cache, audit record, or retained record needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement, or reasonable technical deletion timelines.
8. Your Responsibility for User Content
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, and consents to use, upload, publish, export, sell, and share your User Content.
- Your User Content does not infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, school, student, or other rights.
- You have a lawful basis to process any personal information included in your User Content.
- You have obtained any necessary consent from students, parents, schools, employers, clients, or other individuals whose information appears in your content.
- Your User Content does not contain unlawful, harmful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, infringing, or malicious material.
You are solely responsible for User Content that you upload, publish, share, export, sell, distribute, or otherwise use.
9. Student Data and Sensitive Information
BoardCraft may be used to create classroom materials. You must not upload student data, student photos, health information, disability information, government identification numbers, financial information, or other sensitive information unless you have a clear legal basis and all necessary permissions.
If you use BoardCraft on behalf of a school, district, or educational organization, you are responsible for determining whether a data-processing agreement, student-data agreement, parental consent, school authorization, record-retention rule, or other documentation is required.
BoardCraft does not assume responsibility for your compliance with education, privacy, child-protection, marketplace, or record-retention laws that apply to your school, organization, students, customers, or sales channels.
10. Shared Templates
Seller-plan users may be able to publish boards as cloneable templates or create shareable template links. When you share a template:
- Anyone with the share link may be able to view or clone the template.
- You are responsible for ensuring the template does not contain confidential information, student information, personal data, or third-party material you are not authorized to disclose.
- You grant BoardCraft the rights necessary to host, display, process, preserve dependencies for, and distribute the shared template through the Service.
- Users who clone your template may create their own copies, subject to these Terms.
- Copies made by other users may remain in their accounts after you remove, modify, or unpublish the original template.
BoardCraft may remove, disable, restrict, or review a shared template if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, creates legal risk, infringes rights, or harms the Service or its users.
11. BoardCraft Assets and Library Content
BoardCraft may provide clipart, borders, banners, letter sets, patterns, fonts, SVG shapes, templates, graphics, and other design assets ("BoardCraft Assets").
Subject to your plan and compliance with these Terms, BoardCraft grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BoardCraft Assets within boards and completed exports created through the Service.
Unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing, you may not:
- Sell, sublicense, distribute, share, transfer, or redistribute BoardCraft Assets as standalone files.
- Extract, download, scrape, copy, package, or make BoardCraft Assets available as a clipart set, font file, letter set, template bundle, design resource, or competing library.
- Claim ownership of BoardCraft Assets.
- Use BoardCraft Assets to create a competing asset library, template marketplace, editor, or downloadable resource collection.
- Remove copyright, trademark, attribution, watermark, ownership, or licensing notices.
- Use BoardCraft Assets in a way that suggests BoardCraft endorses you, your business, your marketplace shop, or your products.
Seller-plan users may use completed BoardCraft designs in commercial educational resources only to the extent permitted by the applicable plan, asset license, pricing page, or written licensing terms. Commercial use does not permit resale or distribution of BoardCraft Assets in editable, extractable, standalone, or substantially unmodified form.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, features, interface, branding, logos, workflows, editor tools, code, design system, BoardCraft Assets, documentation, and content created by or for BoardCraft, is owned by BoardCraft or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Except for the limited license expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are granted to you. "BoardCraft," the BoardCraft logo, and associated brand elements are trademarks, trade dress, or brand identifiers of BoardCraft or its licensors. You may not use them without prior written permission except as necessary to identify BoardCraft accurately.
13. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate laws, regulations, third-party rights, or these Terms.
- Upload or distribute infringing, stolen, unlawful, defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, or harmful material.
- Upload malware, ransomware, spyware, viruses, malicious code, or harmful files.
- Interfere with, disrupt, damage, overload, reverse engineer, probe, or compromise the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, systems, APIs, admin tooling, or restricted features.
- Use bots, scripts, scrapers, crawlers, automation, or data-mining tools without our written permission.
- Circumvent usage limits, subscription controls, security features, export restrictions, or content-protection systems.
- Use the Service to create or distribute deceptive, fraudulent, illegal, or misleading materials.
- Collect personal information about other users without authorization.
- Use BoardCraft Assets or the Service to develop, train, benchmark, or support a competing product or service without our written permission.
- Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or provide access to the Service except as expressly permitted.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspending accounts, removing content, blocking access, preserving evidence, and reporting suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities.
14. Third-Party Services
BoardCraft relies on third-party services for functions such as authentication, cloud storage, media delivery, billing, email delivery, security, analytics, monitoring, marketing automation, search, and AI-assisted internal metadata workflows.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, and contractual requirements. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their content, or their acts or omissions, but we use reasonable care when selecting service providers necessary to operate BoardCraft.
15. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, comments, or feedback about BoardCraft, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation. You are not required to provide feedback.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using BoardCraft at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe that:
- You violated these Terms or applicable law.
- Your account presents a security, fraud, misuse, payment, or legal risk.
- You used the Service in a way that may harm BoardCraft, users, service providers, or third parties.
- You failed to pay applicable fees.
- We are required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before suspension or termination. We may act without prior notice where necessary to protect the Service, users, security, or legal rights.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions about intellectual property, User Content, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, governing law, and disputes.
17. Service Availability and Backups
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee that BoardCraft will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, file type, printer, marketplace, or operating system.
We may perform maintenance, updates, security changes, infrastructure changes, or feature changes that temporarily affect availability. You are responsible for maintaining copies of important User Content and exports. BoardCraft is not a substitute for your own backup process.
18. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." BoardCraft disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, title, and quiet enjoyment.
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will meet your specific needs.
- Designs, exports, colors, dimensions, fonts, trimming, or print results will be identical across devices, printers, browsers, or third-party platforms.
- BoardCraft Assets will be suitable for every commercial, educational, marketplace, or licensing use.
- Shared templates, user-created content, or third-party materials are accurate, lawful, non-infringing, or appropriate.
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoardCraft, its affiliates, licensors, service providers, officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or reputation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoardCraft's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to BoardCraft for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death, personal injury, or mandatory statutory consumer rights where applicable.
20. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BoardCraft, its affiliates, licensors, service providers, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
- Your User Content.
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of applicable law.
- Your infringement or alleged infringement of another person's rights.
- Your use of student, school, customer, or third-party data.
- Your sale, publication, distribution, or sharing of materials created through BoardCraft.
We may assume control of the defense of any matter subject to indemnification. You agree to cooperate with our defense.
21. Copyright and Rights Complaints
If you believe content available through BoardCraft infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights, email a written complaint to support@boardcraft.app with the subject line "IP Complaint."
Your complaint should include:
- Your name and contact information.
- A description of the work or right you believe has been infringed.
- The location or link to the allegedly infringing content.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
- A statement that the information in your complaint is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the rights holder.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We may remove or restrict access to allegedly infringing material while reviewing a complaint. We may also terminate or restrict accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
22. Disputes, Governing Law, and Jurisdiction
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@boardcraft.app and provide a written description of the issue. The parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days before either party begins formal legal proceedings, unless urgent injunctive or protective relief is necessary.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived. Any non-consumer dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the courts located in Casablanca, Morocco, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in another forum.
23. Electronic Communications
By using BoardCraft, you agree that we may send notices, disclosures, agreements, invoices, account messages, billing updates, security notices, and other communications electronically, including by email, dashboard notification, checkout flow, account area, or posting within the Service.
You agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing, to the extent permitted by law.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method.
If you continue using the Service after updated Terms become effective, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
25. General Terms
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, pricing information, checkout disclosures, and any additional terms presented for specific features, form the entire agreement between you and BoardCraft regarding the Service.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or operation of the Service.
26. Contact Us
For questions about these Terms, contact BoardCraft at support@boardcraft.app. Refund requests may also be sent to refund@boardcraft.app.
