Which BoardCraft Export Should I Use?
BoardCraft can export the complete board, prepare individual pieces for classroom assembly, or package separate assets for a seller workflow. The right choice depends on what you plan to do after downloading.

PNG
Save as Image (PNG)
PNG exports the finished board as one high-resolution image. Everything keeps its position exactly as it appears on the canvas.
Choose PNG for
Digital previews, classroom screens, thumbnails, online sharing, or a printing service that accepts image files.
Do not choose PNG when
You need each letter or decoration placed on separate sheets for cutting and assembly.
PNG follows the board’s dimensions, not the US Letter or A4 setting in the editor. It represents the full composition rather than reorganizing individual pieces.
Save as Document (PDF)
PDF exports the complete board as a print-ready document. BoardCraft targets 300 DPI when the board size and export limits allow.
Choose PDF for
Sending the finished board to a print provider, archiving a print document, or sharing a layout that should remain a document rather than an image.
Do not choose PDF when
You expect BoardCraft to rearrange individual letters and clipart onto ordinary classroom printer sheets.
Like PNG, PDF uses the board’s physical dimensions. The Print Pack paper-size setting does not resize a complete-board PDF.
Print Pack
Export for Printing
Export for Printing creates a Print Pack for assembling the design by hand. Instead of preserving the whole composition as one picture, BoardCraft prepares the printable pieces.
The Print Pack can:
Split text into individual printable characters.
Pack or tile clipart across pages when needed.
Repeat banner and decorative-border pieces efficiently.
Rotate items to use the available sheet space more effectively.
Keep each item’s intended physical size.
The download is a ZIP containing printable PDF files. This is usually the best option when you will print pieces on a classroom printer, cut them out, and assemble the display on a wall or bulletin board.

Export Asset Bundle
Export Asset Bundle is a Seller-plan workflow for users who need the design’s parts as separate files rather than a classroom Print Pack.
The downloaded ZIP contains separate high-quality PNG assets. Curved text can also include layout metadata that records character placement so the design can be reconstructed.
Choose Asset Bundle for
Customizable digital resources, product asset packs, and teacher-seller workflows that need individual files.
Choose Print Pack instead for
Ready-to-print classroom pages where pieces are already packed onto Letter or A4 sheets.
Paper size and print scaling
The US Letter and A4 choices apply to Export for Printing:
US Letter: 8.5 × 11 inches.
A4: the standard A-series office and classroom paper size.
BoardCraft uses the chosen sheet as a layout constraint. It does not shrink every item simply to make it fit. Large elements can be tiled across multiple pages, while smaller pieces are rotated and packed efficiently.
When printing a Print Pack, select Actual size or 100% in the printer dialog when physical size matters. Disable settings such as Fit to page or Shrink oversized pages unless you intentionally want a different scale.
Common classroom scenarios
“I need to show the board on a projector.”
Choose PNG. It is one easy-to-display image of the complete layout.
“A print shop will print the entire board.”
Ask which format the shop prefers. Choose PDF for a document workflow or PNG when it requests a high-resolution image.
“I will print, cut, and arrange the pieces myself.”
Choose Export for Printing and select the paper loaded in your printer.
“I am packaging editable seller resources.”
Choose Export Asset Bundle to receive the individual assets.
“I need a picture for a product preview.”
Choose PNG for the complete-board image. Use Asset Bundle only if you also need separate product components.
“My decoration is larger than one sheet.”
Choose Print Pack. BoardCraft can tile oversized pieces while preserving their intended physical size.
Before you export
Confirm that the board’s physical dimensions are correct.
Use Fit to screen and review the complete composition.
Check Layers for accidentally hidden elements. Hidden elements are excluded from exports.
Review any oversized-item warnings.
Select Save and wait for the toolbar to show Saved.
Choose US Letter or A4 when creating a Print Pack.
